Childhood is the world of miracle or of magic: it is as if creation rose luminously out of the night, all new and fresh and astonishing.

I was filled with nerves and excitement about presenting my first workshop to a small group of photographers yesterday. Being my first workshop, I was unsure of how what I said and discussed would be received by them. I wanted to share with them MY journey, how I see children and how I work. I am by no means anywhere near where I want to be technically and I keep learning everyday, but I work in a way that feels right. It is a way that I believe God »

When Daniel turned a year old, I was there to capture his birthday. And so when his mom, also Lara, called me to do a family shoot for them, I was overjoyed. Not only because he is the cutest thing in the world, but because her compliment of me and love of my work really touched my heart. Lara loves vintage, so we incorporated that and the beach and came up with this! I LOVE IT!

I was so excited to go down to Llandudno to photograph Antje and her family just a few days before they returned to Germany! The boys were so well behaved with the most precious little spirits! These are the kinds of moments that make me LOVE what I do! LOVE.  

At first Matthew was not that interested in being a part of what seemed to be a little overwhelming, but he warmed up. Although, I have to say that I quite like the look of his ‘I am not doing this’ attitude in these pics! so adorable!

I chose to style a shoot this year for Valentines Day! It was just lovely and when I found this gorgeous dress, I was besides myself with excitement! Isabella was a little present I received from a friend. I organised the cake and cupcakes from Sugar Sugar in Claremont, the dress from My Friend Lily and the shoes were from Accessorize. Prettiness!

Lulu was a dream! She truly is the dearest heart with such a gentle and kind soul and sweetest nature. She actually is a true little porcelain perfection and I am so pleased at how this shoot turned out. It was such a last minute styled idea and I was so worried that the light was too harsh, but it is delightful!

Kellan is completely intoxicated with the world around him. He is in awe at every tiny little thing, each little bug and all the sounds. It is too cute to watch. I love how he revels in the pureness of the world that God has created and it is through this little boy that I once again can smell the roses. I love you Schmini.

Kellan had just woken up after a long nap. The light coming in through the window was warm even though the snow glistened outside. Everyone was out and we were alone. It was perfect. He is perfect. I love him so.

These little delights have the most wonderful life. They really do. They live on a small holding in Hout Bay with horses and farm animals and the most amazing enchanted garden. What I love about them most is their special relationship with each other. It was lovely to witness how these little girls love each other, a very different affair from my household of boys! They are so very beautiful and I am so proud to share this shoot with you!
